Yep, I’ve joined CBC Radio 3’s call for a webathon. Today, our list will be focused on the Haiti Earthquake Relief efforts and the different organizations and groups that are helping out with this cause. Of course, since it wont be List Addicts Fridays without the music, we’ll be showcasing a couple of songs from different artists, all of whom have partnered with organizations helping out in Haiti. Most of them have songs available for downloads in exchange for donations. So yeah, enjoy the music and help out in any way that you can –

1. Adaline  – Whiter Straighter | Download and Donate

Adaline is just one of the independent artists from Music BC, who is offering free downloads via The Province, in exchange for donations to the Red Cross. Entitled Project Haiti, it's a partnership between Canwest, Heavy’d popcorn, Music BC, and Save-on-Foods for the Haiti relief efforts. To check out their playlist and for more information about the Project, you can go here.

2. Dave Matthews Band - Typical Situation (Live) | Download and Donate

Music for Relief in partnership with the United Nations Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and Dave Matthews Band's BAMA Works Haitian relief effort, has released a download to donate album up on their site. The album contains previously unreleased tracks from artists such as Linkin Park, Peter Gabriel, Alanis Morissette and the Dave Matthews Band (which features the live track Typical Situation, that we're sampling here).

3. Ra Ra Riot - Too Too Too Fast (Say Hi Remix) | Download and Donate

This Ra Ra Riot track comes from Paste Magazine's Download Vault that they've opened up to anyone who wishes to donate to organizations helping out with the Haiti Earthquake Relief efforts. Their campaign, called Songs for Haiti gives you access to songs from more than 200 artists that have contributed to Paste. There's a lot of good songs out there from fave indie acts such as The Decemberists, Of Montreal and She and Him. You can either, donate via the Paste campaign (proceeds go to Doctors Without Borders, Red Cross and the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund) or if you've donated somewhere else, you can just let Paste know (they've got a form for it) and get access to their download vault.

4. ELLUL - imissbines | Download and Donate

Joel St. Julien is one of the members of San Francisco band ELLUL. Joel is also Haitian-American. Their debut EP 'The Debris' is dedicated to Haiti,  where proceeds from the sale of the EP will go to the Partners With Haiti's Earthquake Relief Fund. The EP is available as a "pay what you will donation" at ELLUL's Bandcamp page.

5. Arcade Fire - Haiti | Donate

Arcade Fire has long been associated with their work on raising awareness for Haiti. Régine Chassagne, the band's co-founder, has strong ties to the country and has even composed a song about Haiti for their 2004 album Funeral. She recently contributed an article to The Guardian expressing her thoughts and urging people to help out in the relief efforts. Arcade Fire supports Partners in Health, a organization that has been working on the ground with Haiti for over 20 years.
