Why is this artist indie?
If anyone was asked to describe what 'Indie music' is, one of the first bands that would come to mind is 'Belle and Sebastian'. Their first album 'Tigermilk' which started out as a student class project, grew to become one of the most significant Indie albums in it's time. With only 1000 vinyl copies produced, it has now become a collector's item, fetching as much as 500 pounds a copy. It also helps that their music is distributed in the US via Matador Records, a household name for indie music afficionados.
