Why is this artist indie?

If there ever was a way to describe their music, it would be songs about sex, drugs and rock n' roll in an easy listening format. Their music is a unique blend of smooth vocals and lush intrumentation with an edgy feel - like Everything But The Girl got jaded and decided to put a rock record out. This band truly holds its own, and this uniqueness holds them a spot in the indie music scene.
