Why is this artist indie?

Her bio says it all. Before signing up with Razzia Records, Hello Saferide (aka S�kert!, real name: Annika Norlin) began by the tried and tested indie method of spreading her music to the world - via MySpace. Interestingly, it all started with a song about a highschool stalker, which struck a chord to the many random people that came across it. The song became one of the most downloaded songs in her profile and her first internet hit. With her acoustic guitar and quirky lyrics, Annika Norlin continues to win over music fans - who, contrary to her song, probably won't be using Yahoo! or Altavista to start keeping tabs on her.
