Why is this artist indie?

This little five piece all-girl group, started out in the suburbs of Stockholm. Their appropriately entitled song 'Hitten' (translated as 'hit' in Swedish) garnered them well deserved attention and was soon signed up with indie record label Wichita Recordings.
