Because it's a Submarine kind of day and we don't get much Arctic Monkeys music up on this site -- here's Alex Turner with Piledriver Waltz. I suggest renting the film too, it's definitely a pick-me-upper on a cloudy summer day.
If you're wondering why I'm posting the video for that song in that Hyundai commercial, it's because Vancouver's throwing a big party at Stanley Park and The New Pornographers are playing :) They're actually just one of the bands from a long list of performers showing up for Vancouver's 3-day celebration of the city's 125th anniversary. So if I were you and aren't doing anything this Saturday night -- I'd head on over to Stanley Park, get a $5 dollar bag of mini donuts, an ice cold lemonade, and bask under the Vancouver sun while I listen to some awesome live music.
At last something new! Well, new-ish. Although the video might be a year old, it's been more than six months since my last post. I thought I'd throw in something by the Shout Out Louds to hark my return, especially since the first lines in this song rings true to what this blog and I have. Before I wax poetic on how I always come back, let's take a moment and soak in the wonder of Shout Out Louds -- the underwater version. There's always beauty and grace in underwater shots -- just not when you're trying to sing.
